What is an "AV" Rating?

 

“AV” is a registered certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedure standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review process that rates lawyers. Ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. MARTINDALE-HUBBELL(SM) ratings fall into two categories -legal ability and general ethical standards. The “A” legal ability rating means “very high to preeminent”, and the “V” ethical standard rating means “very high”.
